Third week in What did I eat? Since the last post, I have experienced a marked decrease in my appetite. I have mostly been eating OMAD, and have found I am able to go 24 hours easily without food (but I do have water and salt in between.) I ate chicken thighs, minced beef, beef liver, seekh kebab, eggs, chicken tikka and broth these past few days. These were cooked in butter or ghee. At times, I ate spoonfuls of butter when I felt the temptation to eat something sweet. I am still having unsweetened tea, at least two cups a day. Surprisingly, I am beginning to eat meat and broth with a little more enjoyment now. Yesterday night, I acted like an absolute idiot and ate TWO fries. I apologise to myself, and agree it was NOT worth it. How did I feel this week? My energy level, which had been irregular at the beginning of this WOE, spiking at times and crashing at other times, seems to have levelled out. I feel there is a new, very desirable consistency in my stamina, which I have never...

One Week In What transpired in the past week? First, the food. During the week I ate minced beef, chicken strips, beef broth, goat liver, half a steak and soft, custardy scrambled eggs. All these were cooked in butter, beef fat or desi ghee. Unsweetened tea remained a constant, at least once and on some days thrice a day. I did season my food once with pepper and powdered garlic (oops!) I still struggle to get enough proteins in my daily intake, and can not eat more than 3 - 4 eggs and 200 grams of meat a day. Some days I eat one meal only, and feel sated till the next afternoon. My digestive system seems to have adjusted to this WOE now. Initially, I felt constipated, but now am passing waste comfortably and fairly regularly. Gas and bloating have become a thing of the past (to my surprise.) As such, there I have suffered no pain or discomfort in this area, despite fearing that I would suffer from either severe constipation or explosive diarrhoea. My mood was good on most d...

Why am I here? Mostly, it is to document my journey on the thirty-day trial I have undertaken to go on the carnivore diet. I am assuming that keeping a blog will make me more conscientious about following my diet, and help me hold myself accountable (to myself, and other possible readers.) It is also because I'm bored as heck, and what better way to keep myself occupied than to keep a blog/journal of this experiment I have embarked upon. But the greatest reason I want to journal this journey is to record the changes I expect to see/experience in my health and well-being (both positive and negative.) There are some aspects of this undertaking that I will purposely not document, because I do not want these markers to become the main goal of adopting this way of eating, such as my weight, or my measurements. These, I will kind of eyeball, and maybe see if I drop dress sizes. I will look for changes in my health, and be keenly mindful of these, and try my best to document them fully a...
